I am thrilled to share the release of Julia Freitas’ new song, “Oração ao Vento,” a track that I had the honor of producing and arranging. This single, now available on major digital platforms, was complemented by a music video released on July 30, 2024, completing a creative cycle that blends music, theatricality, and rich orchestration, capturing the essence of Broadway and Disney musicals.
Julia Freitas, in addition to being a singer, is a composer and actress with a deep connection to the cinematic world. When she approached me to produce her songs, she sought a cinematic vibe that could reflect her musical influences and love for Disney musicals. My influences as a music producer, such as the soundtracks of Moana and Frozen, aligned perfectly with this vision, resulting in a production that evokes the grandeur and emotion of the films that inspire so many of us.
Creating “Oração ao Vento”
The song “Oração ao Vento” stands out not only for its captivating melody but also for the depth of its message. Julia explains that the song was born as a true prayer, an intimate conversation with the wind, representing a confession to the Divine World and a plea for internal transformation.
When I composed this music, it truly was a prayer, a conversation with the wind representing a confession to the Divine World, a prayer for internal transformation, a request for change. — Julia Freitas, Nação da Música (by Marina Moia).
The Production and Arrangement Process
As a music producer, my goal was to capture the essence of transformation and lightness that Julia wanted to convey. The arrangement of “Oração ao Vento” features rich orchestration. This element not only complements Julia’s voice but also evokes the atmosphere of great musicals, as noted by the press:
The track features the arrangement of music producer Filipe Leitão, with rich orchestration and harmony guided by a striking piano, which managed to showcase the multi-artist’s talent for songs that evoke the mood of great Broadway and Disney musicals. — Nação da Música (by Marina Moia).
This arrangement aimed to amplify the narrative and the deep emotion conveyed by the lyrics, creating a sonic experience that transports the listener to the imaginative and magical world of musicals.
The Music Video and Visual Aspect
The visual aesthetic of “Oração ao Vento” is as impactful as the music itself. The music video, directed by Fernando Biscalchin of Sloth Filmes, is a visual masterpiece that blends the real with the imaginary.
The R7 Cartão de Visita News website also highlights the magical sensation conveyed by the music, comparing it to a moment when “the singer is about to float, birds will appear, and curtains will open.”
The music video featured art direction by Sérgio Lessa, who created miniature sets to convey the concept of the script between the real and the imaginary, placing Julia Freitas in perspective, which the director of photography, Bruno Nakamura, captured in a very special way. — R7 Cartão de Visita News
This combination of music and imagery results in an immersive experience where art extends beyond audio, engaging the audience in a visual narrative that complements and enriches the song’s message.
